Dear Gretchen: Please don't be mad we called you the country music equivalent of Erin Andrews. It's a compliment.
Maybe we’re unreasonably excited for the sweltering, grease-laden cacophony of vomit-inducing rides and nomadic Midway workers that is the Ozark Empire Fair. Maybe we’re way too stoked for a concert lineup that includes a nerd idol (Weird Al), rockers with too many consonants (Puddle of Mudd), and the country music equivalent of Erin Andrews (Gretchen Wilson). But we don’t think so. Thanks mostly to the grandstand lineup, this is shaping up to be the most buzz-worthy fair in years, and such events are ALWAYS better during a big election year. If you don’t have money for the grandstand shows (they’re really not that much, when you consider fair admission is included) check out the local music stage, where shows are free.
